Is the Reading Buddies Program Effective?
As educators, we value data, and the Reading Buddies program is no exception. Studies consistently show that students achieve at a higher rate when school, family, and community come together in support of student achievement! One of the tools used to evaluate the progress of Reading Buddies students over the course of the school year is the STAR Literacy Assessment.
According to STAR Literacy Assessment results from August 2022-May 2023, an impressive 95.5% of students paired with a Reading Buddy demonstrated literacy skill improvement. Due to the hard work of excellent teachers, better engaged families, and a supportive community, our students are on a pathway of success!
